SURFACE PREPARATION

The surface must be dried before painting. Flatten the surface with coarse emery paper. Apply 1 to 2 coats of Perfecton; this will eventually prevent the penetration of moisture through the paint film. For repainting jobs on old walls, the uneven portion must be scraped off completely. Re-plaster, if necessary. Any cracks must be made good. Leave the surface and then follow the earlier procedure. Do not leave dirt and fatty matters over areas that are to be repainted. They must be washed off with mild detergent solution, if necessary. Wash with fresh water and allow the wall to dry perfectly before painting.

PRIMER COAT

Primer coat is recommended. If thinning is required due to difference in absorption of surface, good-quality genuine mineral turpentine may be mixed with it.

FINISHING COAT

On interior surface, Rainbow Executive Plastic Emulsion or similar is recommended whereas on exterior surfaces, 2 to 3 coats of Rainbow Weather Guard should be applied.

COVERAGE

Coverage will be depend on surface and application but on an average, 1 liter of Rainbow Executive Plastic Emulsion will cover 12 to 16 m2 per liter per coat whereas 1 Gallon (4 Liters) of Rainbow Weather Guard will cover 300 to 350 Sq.ft per Gallon on a normal smooth surface. If the surface is rough or absorbent, coverage will be less.
